What is the LAN Jukebox?

The LAN Jukebox was developed with the idea that everybody in an office listens to the same music. Of course, you can listen to the radio, but wouldn't it be much more fun to be able to listen to your own music?

With the LAN Jukebox, there is one computer per office with a large collection of music (MP3 files) connected to an audio system. All people in the office can connect to this computer to request songs and control the computer that plays all songs.

The LAN Jukebox consists of two parts: a player and a client. One computer (connected to an audio system) should be dedicated to run the player. The other computers on the network can log onto the player with the client software.

It is important to realize that no music is streamed over the network. The player is the computer that plays the music. The clients just log on to the player to request songs, veto songs, or to see what is currently playing.
